Hakuho crashes keiko party, roughs up Kisenosato

Jan. 7th - The Nishonoseki Ichimon continued their string of joint keiko sessions today with the festivities held at the Matsugane-beya in Funabashi, Chiba Prefecture. Crashing the party was Yokozuna Hakuho who called Ozeki Kisenosato into the practice ring for 10 bouts. Hakuho showed who's boss by roughing up the Ozeki to the tune of a 9-1 record that included a dame-oshi of Kisenosato into the wall of the practice facility after one of the Yokozuna's wins. Following a time-honored tradition, the Yokozuna tracked down an opponent who defeated him at the previous basho and roughed him up a bit. He also chided Kisenosato when he was out of rhythm at the tachi-ai saying, "You're screwing up my rhythm now. Watch my timing already."

The fun didn't stop after the 10 bouts as Hakuho conducted the session-ending butsukari-geiko for the Ozeki as well scolding him for his lack of power before throwing him down to the dirt and even shouting, "You have no power in your legs! Are you doing enough shiko exercises?!" After the session, Kisenosato, who was covered in wet sand commented, "I was happy for the practice, but I regret that I didn't display much power out there. My body is still in good condition, so now it's all mental from here." After the session, Kisenosato took his tsuke-bito to the park next to the practice facilities to practice his suri-ashi.
