Makuuchi Day 1, Day 1 Pairings Announced
Jan. 10th - Sumo Association officials met this morning to determine the bouts for the first two days in the Makuuchi division, and Yokozuna hopeful, Kisenosato draws M1 Toyonoshima on day 1 before entertaining Myogiryu on day 2. With Harumafuji's withdrawal official, Yokozuna Hakuho will carry musubi-no-ichiban duty each day of the tournament jousting with Tochiohzan and day 1 before battling Toyonoshima on day 2. In his quest for double digit wins which will propel him back into the Ozeki ranks, Sekiwake Kotooshu draws Toyohibiki on day 1 followed up with a contest against upstart, Ikioi, on day 2.
