Tatsunami: Hoshoryu Once Dropped Nearly 10 kg to Insomnia and No Appetite
Hoshoryu's final Kyushu session on the 7th mixed shiko, stretching, and dumbbell work in his basho mawashi. "I'm looking forward to it. From tomorrow it's Kyushu," he said. Stablemaster Tatsunami (former komusubi Asahiyutaka) said that after the right-knee flare in Nagoya and late-July surgery, insomnia and loss of appetite once cut nearly 10 kg; the yokozuna now reports the body feels solid and sits near a career-high 154 kg.
Day 1 is new komusubi Churanoumi; Day 2 is Asanoyama. Still seeking a first yokozuna yusho in his 11th tournament at the rank after three absences, he wants to finish the year without aggravating the knee.
