Aonishiki's Fukuoka Treat: Motsunabe, but Ukrainian Food Still Tops
Asked during a courtesy call at Fukuoka City Hall what he looks forward to eating, ozeki Aonishiki answered motsunabe, surprising a reporter who says he usually eats only lean red meat. Shukan Josei PRIME says his favorite remains Ukrainian food, especially borscht and the dishes at DOMIVKA Ukrainian Soul Tokyo in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, which reportedly opened near Ajigawa-beya with him in mind.
The magazine notes Aonishiki has been hampered by a left foot injury and plans to resume degeiko for the first time in about half a year as he returns to the site of last year's first title.
