Musashigawa's Preview: Hoshoryu Must Attack, Asanoyama Should Round His Back
Daily Sports analyst Musashigawa (ex-yokozuna Musashimaru) admits he would have let Hoshoryu sit one more basho after knee surgery, and worries about the extra weight. His advice: once you're in, don't play it safe — move forward and attack. On Onosato, he says no one knows how anybody will fare until the basho starts, but the yokozuna must hang in without pulling.
He was surprised Aonishiki reportedly took almost no bouts with sekitori before the basho, and sees no need for him to get bigger. Fujinokawa will find opponents have studied him, Churanoumi has become more forward-moving with added size, and Asanoyama, back in the joi, needs to round his back because his sumo has grown too big and open.
