Kotoshoho Back Training After Aki Concussion Kyujo

Makuuchi Kotoshoho (Sadogatake) worked out ahead of the Kyushu basho (opens the 8th at Fukuoka Kokusai Center) on the 5th, taking 10 bouts against visiting sekiwake Fujinokawa (Isenoumi) and others and going 6-4. "I'm glad I made it this far without further injury. I'll get myself ready and give it my all," he said.

He had withdrawn from September's Aki basho after Minonoumi's head caught him on the chin and he fell onto his back, then spent time in hospital with a concussion. He has resumed bout practice since arriving in Kyushu. Stablemaster Sadogatake Oyakata (former sekiwake Kotonowaka) said he is "improving" and "on track." The former sekiwake (through Nagoya) looks to close the year with a strong showing.
