Onosato, Hoshoryu, and Aonishiki Pay Courtesy Call on Fukuoka Governor
Ahead of the Kyushu basho (November 8–22 at Fukuoka Kokusai Center), yokozuna Onosato (26, Nishonoseki), yokozuna Hoshoryu, and ozeki Aonishiki paid a courtesy visit to Fukuoka Governor Seitaro Hattori on October 27. Fresh off his sixth yusho at Aki, Onosato told reporters he still had time before opening day and wanted to prepare carefully.
Governor Hattori urged them to watch for injuries and show the strength and technique built in daily keiko. The prefectural office's first-floor lobby is hosting a "Kyushu Basho Support Lobby Exhibition" through November 20.
