Former Komusubi Endo Models a Custom Suit for Uniqlo

November 4, 2026

Kitajin Oyakata, the former Komusubi Endo, appeared on Uniqlo's official X account on November 3rd in two photos showing him in a navy suit, white shirt and navy polka-dot tie, still wearing his topknot. The post promoted Uniqlo's custom-order suits for bigger builds, and fans responded with comments like "too beautiful" and "the era of oyakata as Uniqlo models has arrived."

In a feature on Uniqlo's site, he said he never wore suits during his career and that it's hard to find one in his size, but that the finished suit stretches so well "it's comfortable enough to do shiko in." Endo, 36, debuted in March 2013, reached Komusubi, and won the Outstanding Performance and Fighting Spirit prizes once each and the Technique Prize four times. He retired last November, is now a coach at Oitekaze stable, and his danpatsu-shiki is scheduled for January 30th at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
